Program Note: “Frostbite” depicts a winter battle scene in the middle of an icy taiga. The percussion sets the stage here and should be brought out as much as possible. The woodwinds and brass represent the two groups battling continuously growing throughout the piece. The finale builds into a slight shift in tonality and finishes us off with a vicious battle call from the horn and flourishes from the woodwinds.
