Program Note: Go Silently My Love is a musical representation of coming to terms with saying goodbye to a family member that has memory loss. While you go on with your life you witness a person that you love slowly becoming a shell of the person they once were, slowly forgetting how to function until they cannot function at all. You ask yourself why is this happening? You experience sadness, anger, and depression as you learn to accept this new reality. The clarinet and flute soloist represent the two individuals conversating throughout this new reality as they try to reconcile and find themselves again. Though, these people both become new versions of themselves in the end.

Program Note: Ya Tú Sabes is a common slang term used frequently throughout multiple Latin – Caribbean countries and territories. This phrase translated to English means “you already know.” I thought this was the perfect title as I started to write this piece as it fits the energetic and lively nature. Ya Tú Sabes features a festive clarinet quartet at the forefront of the piece while accompanied by a percussion ensemble and piano. This piece will transport listeners to the beautiful landscapes and beaches of Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.

Scoring: Soprano Sax, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax
Program Note: “Horizons” is a transcription of the second movement of my string quartet. The introduction represents the view of the horizon as the sun rises and the rays begin to shine through. The various following sections represent the different emotions and trials that people experience every day. “Horizons” is a reminder that no matter what the day consists of, the sun will continue to set and rise every day.
2023 | 12:30
Level: Grade 6
Scoring: 2 Violins, Viola, Cello
Program Note: “String Quartet Number 1” comprises three distinct movements with three different characters and styles. Movement one is an arrangement of my clarinet choir piece titled “Sketches,” except this time the movement is set in C lydian and at time C lydian-mixolydian. The musical result is similar to that of impressionistic artwork. Movement two is much slower and free and allows the musicians to play expressively through various themes. Movement three concludes the piece with a virtuosic showcase of technique heavily anchored in C minor.
2019 | 3:27
Level: Grade 4
Scoring: 4 Clarinets (Bb), Bass Clarinet (Bb)
Program Note: “Sketches” is a short minimalistic piece designed to sound like a never-ending “Clarinet Machine.” I wrote this piece in the car on my way to New York City as something fun to do that would keep me entertained. This piece will appropriately challenge clarinet players and grab the audience in a whirlwind of technique.
