Program Note: Renaissance was one of the first pieces I have ever written for concert band back in 2017. When I was deciding which pieces to include in the “2024 Summer Series,” I had the idea to refinish this piece and include it on my website. The piece maintains a fanfare like style throughout the piece and maintains a sense of heroism. Renaissance provides an opportunity for each section to be featured before closing out the final tutti section.

Program Note: “The Last Letter” encapsulates all the emotions that come with reflecting on the time spent with someone that is no longer here. Reflecting on happy memories and intense turmoil, “The Last Letter” is a musical depiction of a very human experience.
