Obsidian Hellfire Gains National Recognition

I’m thrilled to share that my composition Obsidian Hellfire has earned national recognition through The American Prize in Composition. The work was selected as one of only nine national finalists in the United States and ultimately awarded Honorable Mention—a distinction that places it among some of the most compelling new compositions in the country.

The premiere performance of Obsidian Hellfire was given by the Tarpon Springs Leadership Conservatory for the Arts Wind Ensemble in St. Petersburg, Florida, with Michael Olson conducting. The ensemble brought extraordinary intensity, precision, and emotional depth to the music, capturing its dark energy and explosive motion with remarkable artistry.

To everyone involved in bringing this composition to life—students, educators, colleagues, and supporters—thank you. Your dedication and spirit made this milestone possible.

You can listen to the premiere performance below.
